Ferndown Gun Club is a 'not for profit' organisation run on an entirely voluntary basis by its members.

The aims of Ferndown Gun Club are to:

The club is based at a Home Office Approved indoor target shooting range co-located with Ferndown Leisure Centre.

This 25 yard (23m) range provides facilities for target shooting with air rifles and air pistols plus rim fire cartridge rifles; centre fire cartridge rifles; long barrelled revolvers; long barrelled pistols; muzzle loading revolvers; and muzzle loading pistols.

The facilities at the Ferndown range include an electronic target returning system and programmable turning targets. 

Club rifles rifles are available for use by members.

Free coaching is available on request from qualified club instructors.

All shooting at this indoor range is conducted from a standing, seated or kneeling position. There is no provision at this range for prone (lying face down) or supine (lying face up) shooting. 

The club arranges regular visits to external approved ranges where members are able to shoot from a prone or supine position.

We hold regular shoots at the Queens Park, Bournemouth, outdoor range at distances up to 100 yards (Prone only, using air guns and .22 rimfire rifles at this range).

We also hold regular Full Bore club shoots at the East Holme range and at the National Shooting Centre, Bisley at distances up to 1,200 yards.  Attendees at club shoots at East Holme and Bisley share the cost of the range hire.
